Using a turf cutter, we strip the existing lawn to approximately 80-100mm depth. Where required, we lay block edging to act as a clean, solid retainer for the new artificial grass - ensuring crisp, defined edges and preventing any movement over time.
We lay 60-70mm of MOT Granite Type 1 and compact it thoroughly using a wacker plate. This step is essential - proper compaction prevents sinkage, creates a rock-solid base and ensures your lawn stays level for years to come, regardless of foot traffic or weather.
Approximately 20mm of granite dust is then laid and screeded to create a perfectly flat and even surface. This finishing layer sits on top of the compacted Type 1 base and provides the smooth, stable platform that your artificial grass needs to look and perform at its best.
A durable, heavy-duty weed membrane is then laid and pinned down across the entire area. This barrier prevents weeds from growing up through your artificial grass without restricting drainage - keeping your lawn looking clean and weed-free for years without any maintenance from you.
The grass is carefully laid into position across the whole area. Where joins are needed, the rolls are precisely lined up and bonded using high-strength seaming tape and adhesive - ensuring a tight, invisible bond between sections. An expertly executed join is the difference between a lawn that looks natural and one that clearly doesn't.
The artificial grass is securely fixed around the entire perimeter using 6" galvanised nails, anchoring it firmly in place. The lawn is then mechanically brushed to sweep up the pile and achieve that fresh, natural finish. We leave your garden spotless - tools packed away, waste removed and your new lawn ready to enjoy from day one.
